Three Guys With a Gourmet Dream

A couple of years ago, three of us guys with a passion for high-quality food, particularly meat, found ourselves wondering: “Why is it that we can only find the best steaks at steakhouses and other fine-dining establishments? Why should they—with their white linen tablecloths and freakishly oversized pepper grinders—have a corner on the best meats available?” We knew that having the best steaks meant having access to USDA Prime beef—the highest quality grade of beef available. We also knew our local grocery store or neighborhood butcher weren’t options. While the local meat counters may offer decent meat, they also use that fake, plastic greenery to separate the rows of pre-cut product. And that pre-cut product is not Prime.

Which brings us to why our little trio founded Chicago Prime Meat Market. The three of us (Tim O’Day , Ken Agojci and John Murphy ) were tired of not having easier access to Prime beef, along with high-quality pork, poultry and other meats. We all want to love the steak we grill at home just as much as the ones we’ve loved when dining out. So, with the opening of the first Chicago Prime Meat Market we declared “carpe meatum!”

We also established Chicago Prime Meat Market as an alternative to the tyranny of terrible-for-you takeout. Just like you, we’re busy people. We’ve ordered the pizzas; we’ve hit the drive-thrus; we’ve even fed our kids those pre-packaged cracker and “meat” eat-able thingys. We needed a healthier, fresher alternative for when time is crunched—and so do you. Our gourmet prepared foods, made with a Mediterranean flare, are prepared by Ken with everyone’s best interests in mind. He does the work; you take it home, heat it and enjoy a delicious meal that won’t leave you feeling guilty.

So that’s our story—we came together so that all of us—including you— have guaranteed access to the highest quality of meats and prepared foods available. We now all have the choice to make every day gourmet!
